Terms and Conditions for online registration for the Challenger Conference for Marine Science: 2004.
- The contract between us:
- We must first receive payment for the total cost of conference registration, late registration
supplement (if applicable, section 2a) and any options that you specify. We will then verify that your
registration (including whether you are entitled to concessions) and payment details are correct
before we accept your conference registration. We will confirm your registration by sending an e-mail
to you at the e-mail address that you provide on the registration form. Our acceptance of your
registration creates a legally binding contract between us on these terms. Any condition you seek to
impose with your registration will not form part of this contract.
- We are entitled to withdraw from any contract in the case of obvious errors or inaccuracies
regarding registration, options and fees appearing on our web site.
- We accept no liability if for any reason the Conference does not take place. Participants may be
offered a partial refund depending on circumstances and whether part or all of the fees paid
constitute the charges of a third party for which we may be held liable.
- Prices:
- The prices for registration, concessions and other options, are as set out on our web site, and
include VAT where appropriate. We will charge you a late registration supplement of £50.00
if you register after 31st July 2004.
- All card payments are processed by SecureTrading Ltd, who will take a proportion (up to 3%) of the
amount paid as a handling fee for the transaction. The remainder pays for your conference
registration and other applicable costs. The total amount payable will be the same regardless of
the payment method.
- Withdrawal by you from the contract:
- You may cancel your registration at any time up to the end of the seventh working day after
we send the confirmation by e-mail. Within this period, you do not have to give any reasons
for cancelling your registration; we will refund your payment, but we will charge you the
transaction fee in section 2b.
- If you cancel your registration after the seventh working day (referred to in section 3a), we
will charge you an administration fee of 10% of the total amount paid subject to a minimum of
£15.00 on or before 31st July 2004; the minimum will be £50.00 after this date. No
refund will be given after 29th August 2004 (14 days before the start of the
Conference).
- To cancel your registration, we must receive your written notification at the MS2004 Office or
e-mail from the e-mail address you originally provided on the registration form (contact details
at http://www.pol.ac.uk/ms2004/contacts.html).
- Once we have received and agreed your notification to cancel, any money debited from your
payment card (minus any transaction or administration fee) will be credited to your account as
soon as possible within thirty days.
- Complaints:
Please contact the MS2004 Office if you have any queries or complaints about payments, cancellations
and refunds (contact details at http://www.pol.ac.uk/ms2004/contacts.html).
- Governing Law:
The contract between us shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with English Law and the
English Courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us. If any part of these Terms
and Conditions becomes unenforceable, the enforceability of the remaining parts will be unaffected.
